We Bring the Supply House to Your Driveway.

If you have a recurring clog that comes back every few months, “snaking” it again is a waste of money. You are treating the symptom, not the disease. You need to know what is causing the blockage and where it is located.

At Blackmon Plumbing, we believe in Evidence-Based Plumbing. We don’t guess. We deploy waterproof, high-definition sewer cameras deep into your lines to visually verify the condition of your pipes.

Whether it’s a crushed pipe under your driveway or a ball of grease under your kitchen, we find it, record it, and show you the proof.

What We Carry on the Truck (Diagnostic Lab)

We don’t just carry a flashlight. We carry a mobile diagnostic lab.

  • Self-Leveling Ridgid Cameras: Standard cameras spin around, making the image upside down and confusing. Our heads automatically level, so “up” is always “up.” This is crucial for identifying “bellies” (sags) in the line.
  • Radio-Frequency Locators: The camera head emits a 512 Hz sonde signal. We walk above ground with a digital receiver to pinpoint the exact spot of the problem—down to the inch and depth.
  • Recording Capability: We don’t just look; we record. We can provide you with a digital copy of the inspection for your records or for insurance claims.

When Do You Need a Camera Inspection?

You don’t need a camera for a simple clogged toilet. But you absolutely need one for:

  • Recurring Backups: If you’ve snaked the same drain twice in a year, there is a structural issue (roots/break) that snaking can’t fix.
  • Home Purchase (Pre-Purchase Inspection): Never buy a home built before 1980 without inspecting the Cast Iron sewer lines. A $300 inspection can save you from a $20,000 tunnel job.
  • Foundation Movement: If your slab has shifted, it may have sheared your plumbing. A camera confirms if the pipe is intact.
  • Planning a Pool or Addition: Before you dig a pool in your backyard, you must know where your sewer line runs. We locate and map the line so your pool contractor doesn’t accidentally sever your plumbing.
  • Lost Valuables: Dropped a wedding ring down the drain? We can locate it.

The Truth About "Free" Camera Inspections

You may see ads for “Free Camera Inspections” from large franchise rooter companies. Be careful. In the plumbing trade, if the diagnostic is free, the “repair” is often guaranteed to be expensive.

  • The Sales Trap: These companies use the camera as a sales tool to upsell unnecessary replacements. They are incentivized to find problems that might not exist.
  • The Blackmon Difference: We charge a fair, flat rate for our diagnostic time. Because you are paying for the inspection, our only goal is to tell you the unbiased truth—even if that truth is “your pipes are fine, it was just a wipe.”

The Blackmon Diagnostic Process

We hold Master Plumber License MPL-38162. Our inspection is a formal diagnostic procedure, not a quick look.

More Than Just a Video: The Master Plumber's Report

When you hire Blackmon, you aren’t just paying for us to look at a screen. You are paying for a formal diagnostic report from a Licensed Master Plumber (MPL-38162).

  • For Insurance Claims: Adjusters respect our reports because they are detailed, code-cited, and unbiased. We provide the technical proof you need to validate water damage claims.
  • For Real Estate Negotiations: A vague “plumbing issue” won’t get you a credit at closing. A report stating “Collapsed Cast Iron at 43 feet requiring tunnel repair” gives you the leverage you need.

What We Can (and Cannot) See

Common Questions About Camera Inspections

Q: Does the inspection include cleaning?

A: No. The camera is for diagnosis. If the line is totally blocked, we must clear it (clean/jet) before we can see anything.

Q: Can you find a leak under my slab?

A: We can see if the pipe is broken. But for pinhole leaks, we combine the camera with Static Isolation Testing (balloon test) for 100% accuracy.

Q: Do I get to keep the video?

A: Yes. Upon request, we provide a digital link or file of the footage.
